Good to read this morning, Mark, thanks. I’m looking forward to seeing the movie. Regarding the NZ National Anthem; given the way we burst into joy when a stadium full of kiwis sing the Exponents ‘Why does love do this too me’, that’s got to be a strong contender. We at least need someone like Don McGlashen to give us a new melody to replace the current dirge to which we sing “God defend”.

That's also a banger. So much good Kiwi music. I wonder if there was a requirement back in the day that any national anthem had to suit a brass band to be accepted. But even then, I can think of brass bands that would crush Home Again. What about Stan Walker's Take it Easy? Suits our Kiwi laid-back vibe. Thanks David :-)

Thanks Mark. I love Dave Dobbyn’s Welcome Home and I think it’s played at ceremonies where people become NZ citizens, which I’m kind of proud of given the anti- immigrant stuff happening around the world. We also played it at my Dads funeral thinking about the ultimate homecoming.

I make a point of having Welcome Home playing on my headphones whenever I return from overseas (not that frequent tbh). Flying over all those multi-coloured Auckland roofs, makes me cry. Love this place. "See I made a space for you now..."
